splitzdance academy

Splitz Dance Academy was founded by Miss Stacey Caister in 2009.The Academy's aim is to offer a variety of lessons for all ages in a wide range of styles. The main body of lesson will be taught in line with the ISTD syllabus. The ISTD is one of the main awarding bodies for dance and has been since 1904.

The Principal:

Since starting dancing at the age of 2½, I have trained within the ISTD syllabus taking part in many festivals, shows and exams.

I began competing at the age of 4 and continued doing so achieving many medals and awards until I was 16 years old. During this time I also took part in many major dance events and reached the finals of the 'All England Dance' competition, taking to the London stage at just eleven years old. I also took part in many local shows and drama performances as well as annual dance shows and pantomimes.

Miss Stacey L Caister

Principal

It was at my dance school and at Hastings pantomime that I discovered my passion for teaching. I was made dance captain at just 13 years old and was left in charge of 50+ students of all ages, including those far older than myself.  Having enjoyed the challenge so much I continued to do this for many years to come.

I was given the chance to teach at my dance school on a regular basis. This spurred me on to undertake the new ISTD teaching qualification in tap, modern and ballet, having received the highest level in the syllabus previously. I decided having taken exams in these genres all to high standards achieving the top marks that it was time to transfer these skills in to teaching. I have also gained teaching qualifications in IDTA tap, ballet, modern and jazz.

More recently with Splitz I have staged termly shows, a full scale musical “We Will Rock You” and students have entered many competitions and events and it is wonderful to see the school growing.

As well as running the Academy I also intend on keeping up-to-date with all the new teaching criteria and syllabus, to ensure Splitz keeps on growing with exciting new styles for everyone to try.
